Crystal Bead Scatter Pin

Dainty, yet brilliant crystal bead lapel pin. The crystal beads are hand set with Rhinestone pins. Measures 3 inches round. In the 1950's small lapel pins were worn in clusters and were known as "Scatter pins".  Very popular at the time, these small pins remain very collectable to this day. This pin was obviously worn in it's day and has some wear to the back of the piece. The wear is not obvious when the pin is being worn, however as a collectable the value is somewhat diminished anytime the piece is less than perfect. Priced accordingly, this piece is bargain at twice the price!

In business from 1945 thru 2000, the Alice Caviness Jewelry Company makes pieces that are distinctive and unusual. Caviness Jewelry was sold only in high-end boutique and department stores and fine jewelry shops in United States, and they were very selective as to who carried their jewelry. Since it was a special line of jewelry with many fewer pieces made than companies like Coro and Trifari, it is difficult to find today, and very collectible.  These clip back earrings are of a color and form commonly referred to as "Fruit Salad" in the trade.
