Coro Duettes are pins or brooches which are comprised of at least three separate parts that can be worn individually or as one piece. The Duette consists of a frame made specifically to hold two pin clips (or fur clips) in a fixed position so that together they can be worn as a brooch. Laurel Burch Inc. was formed by a self taught artist who found her passion selling jewelry she personally designed and manufactured. Her venue in the beginning was found in the streets of San Francisco where she sold pieces displayed in fishing tackle boxes. Laurel launched her business in the 1960's . She went to China in 1971 and discovered cloisonne' with which she designed paintings and had the designs made into earrings. These earrings, now a part of the Port of Mystery collection, are examples of that creative process.

Dating back to a period of time before it became usual practice to irradiate Turquoise in order to "enhance" the color, this Pin Circa dates to 1940-1950.
