The necklace is secured by a J-hook and bead chain which is likewise in unrestored condition. Measuring 17 inches from end to end, this necklace is a classic rendition of a wardrobe staple from an era long since passed.....and yet, this piece easily transitions into the "Retro" wardrobe of today's fashionista. In business from 1945 thru 2000, the Alice Caviness Jewelry Company makes pieces that are distinctive and unusual. Caviness Jewelry was sold only in high-end boutique and department stores and fine jewelry shops in United States, and they were very selective as to who carried their jewelry. Since it was a special line of jewelry with many fewer pieces made than companies like Coro and Trifari, it is difficult to find today, and very collectible. These clip back earrings are of a color and form commonly referred to as "Fruit Salad" in the trade. A Caviness piece of jewelry is a staple in any well rounded jewelry collection.
