Art Deco Rhinestone Fur Clip
The era commonly referred to as “Art Deco” became known as such after the Exposition International des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes (which was held in Paris in 1925). The Exposition was dedicated for the most part to the jewelry arts. The jewelry of the Art Deco period features modern, almost industrial designs consisting of geometric lines and angles. Art Deco jewelry is highly prized by collectors around the world. This piece is classic in design and magnificent in its execution. A fur clip, it can also be adapted as a brooch, scarf clip, choker (when clipped to a ribbon tied elegantly on one's neck) or belt buckle. The red/black/silver rhinestone combination is breathtaking.

In the collectable jewelry community, pieces featuring the color red are highly prized. This early 1950's glass bead necklace is no exception. In original condition, the beads have not been restrung. The necklace is secured by a J-hook and bead chain which is likewise in unrestored condition. Original, unrestored jewelry in good condition carries a higher value on the collectable market than similiar pieces that have been altered. Measuring 17 inches from end to end, this necklace is a classic rendition of a wardrobe staple from an era long since passed.....and yet, this piece easily transitions into the "Retro" wardrobe of today's fashionista. Alice Caviness Bead Clip Back Earrings
In business from 1945 thru 2000, the Alice Caviness Jewelry Company makes pieces that are distinctive and unusual. Caviness Jewelry was sold only in high-end boutique and department stores and fine jewelry shops in United States, and they were very selective as to who carried their jewelry. Since it was a special line of jewelry with many fewer pieces made than companies like Coro and Trifari, it is difficult to find today, and very collectible. These clip back earrings are of a color and form commonly referred to as "Fruit Salad" in the trade. A Caviness piece of jewelry is a staple in any well rounded jewelry collection.

Coro Duettes are pins or brooches which are comprised of at least three separate parts that can be worn individually or as one piece. The Duette consists of a frame made specifically to hold two pin clips (or fur clips) in a fixed position so that together they can be worn as a brooch. Duettes are often missing components and therefore those pieces which are complete are much more valuable. Marked as "Coro" with a patent number, this piece is in excellent condition.

Laurel Burch Silver/Enamel Pierced Earrings
Laurel Burch Inc. was formed by a self taught artist who found her passion selling jewelry she personally designed and manufactured. Her venue in the beginning was found in the streets of San Francisco where she sold pieces displayed in fishing tackle boxes. Laurel launched her business in the 1960's . She went to China in 1971 and discovered cloisonne' with which she designed paintings and had the designs made into earrings. These earrings, now a part of the Port of Mystery collection, are examples of that creative process.
