Art Deco Rhinestone Fur Clip
The era commonly referred to as “Art Deco” became known as such after the Exposition International des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes (which was held in Paris in 1925). The Exposition was dedicated for the most part to the jewelry arts. The jewelry of the Art Deco period features modern, almost industrial designs consisting of geometric lines and angles. Dating back to a period of time before it became usual practice to irradiate Turquoise in order to "enhance" the color, this Pin Circa dates to 1940-1950.

In the 1950's small lapel pins were worn in clusters and were known as "Scatter pins". Very popular at the time, these small pins remain very collectable to this day. This pin was obviously worn in it's day and has some wear to the back of the piece. The wear is not obvious when the pin is being worn, however as a collectable the value is somewhat diminished anytime the piece is less than perfect. Priced accordingly, this piece is bargain at twice the price!
