Circa 1850-1900. A Mother of Pearl Victorian Pin, set in Sterling Silver. The “c” clasp is a clue to the age of this simple, but elegant pin.  Well over one hundred years ago this piece was hand wrought by a skilled jeweler.  The piece has been left with the original patina so that the new owner can decide for themselves whether to polish it to a high shine, or leave the proof of graceful aging.

Circa 1850-1900. A Mother of Pearl Victorian Pin, set in Sterling Silver. Art Deco Rhinestone Fur Clip

The era commonly referred to as “Art Deco” became known as such after the Exposition International des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes (which was held in Paris in 1925).
