Circa 1850-1900. A Mother of Pearl Victorian Pin, set in Sterling Silver. The “c” clasp is a clue to the age of this simple, but elegant pin.  Well over one hundred years ago this piece was hand wrought by a skilled jeweler.  The piece has been left with the original patina so that the new owner can decide for themselves whether to polish it to a high shine, or leave the proof of graceful aging.

Circa 1850-1900. A Mother of Pearl Victorian Pin, set in Sterling Silver. Coro Duettes are pins or brooches which are comprised of at least three separate parts that can be worn individually or as one piece.  The Duette consists of a frame made specifically to hold two pin clips (or fur clips) in a fixed position so that together they can be worn as a brooch.  Duettes are often missing components and therefore those pieces which are complete are much more valuable.  Marked as "Coro" with a patent number, this piece is in excellent condition.

By the beginning of the 1950’s Japan had re-kindled it's jewelry industry and sought to fulfill the growing market in the U.S.  for quality pieces of well made jewelry.  Marked "Japan", this Crystal bead pin  is a wonderful example of why these post war pieces have become a popular collectable.  Clustered on a 1.5 inch round base, the multicolored Aurora Borealis Crystal Beads were all hand set.
