Miriam Haskell jewelry has been know through the years for its high quality workmanship, designs, and materials. The jewelry pieces were handmade and handset using goldtone metal, an antique Russian gold metal finish developed by Haskell and Frank Hess. Miriam purchased her beads from France and Italy with her crystals imported from Bohemia.This Milk Glass Bead Necklace Circa dates to the mid 1950′s. In the collectable jewelry community, pieces featuring the color red are highly prized. This early 1950's glass bead necklace is no exception. In original condition, the beads have not been restrung. The necklace is secured by a J-hook and bead chain which is likewise in unrestored condition. Original, unrestored jewelry in good condition carries a higher value on the collectable market than similiar pieces that have been altered. Measuring 17 inches from end to end, this necklace is a classic rendition of a wardrobe staple from an era long since passed.....and yet, this piece easily transitions into the "Retro" wardrobe of today's fashionista.
