Circa 1850-1900. A Mother of Pearl Victorian Pin, set in Sterling Silver. The "c" clasp is a clue to the age of this simple, but elegant pin. Well over one hundred years ago this piece was hand wrought by a skilled jeweler. In the collectable jewelry community, pieces featuring the color red are highly prized. This early 1950's glass bead necklace is no exception. In original condition, the beads have not been restrung. The necklace is secured by a J-hook and bead chain which is likewise in unrestored condition. Original, unrestored jewelry in good condition carries a higher value on the collectable market than similiar pieces that have been altered. Measuring 17 inches from end to end, this necklace is a classic rendition of a wardrobe staple from an era long since passed.....and yet, this piece easily transitions into the "Retro" wardrobe of today's fashionista.
