Laurel Burch Inc. was formed by a self taught artist who found her passion selling jewelry she personally designed and manufactured. Her venue in the beginning was found in the streets of San Francisco where she sold pieces displayed in fishing tackle boxes. Laurel launched her business in the 1960's . She went to China in 1971 and discovered cloisonne' with which she designed paintings and had the designs made into earrings. These earrings, now a part of the Port of Mystery collection, are examples of that creative process.

The Duette consists of a frame made specifically to hold two pin clips (or fur clips) in a fixed position so that together they can be worn as a brooch. Duettes are often missing components and therefore those pieces which are complete are much more valuable. Marked as "Coro" with a patent number, this piece is in excellent condition.
