The Exposition was dedicated for the most part to the jewelry arts. The jewelry of the Art Deco period features modern, almost industrial designs consisting of geometric lines and angles. Fashioned with a classic South Western flavor, this Lapel Pin retains it's popular appeal even today. Dating back to a period of time before it became usual practice to irradiate Turquoise in order to "enhance" the color, this Pin Circa dates to 1940-1950.

Her venue in the beginning was found in the streets of San Francisco where she sold pieces displayed in fishing tackle boxes. Laurel launched her business in the 1960's . She went to China in 1971 and discovered cloisonne' with which she designed paintings and had the designs made into earrings. These earrings, now a part of the Port of Mystery collection, are examples of that creative process.
