Enameled Georgian Lapel Pin

Part of the Port of Mystery's collection from the Georgian Era, this lapel Pin is both delicate and understated.  The "C" clasp is an indicator of an origin date no later than 1900. There is no rollover or locking mechanism and the C extends approximately 75% around the circle and bends inward.  These clasps were used almost exclusively through the Georgian era right up until 1900.  Well over a hundred years old, this piece is in exceptional condition.

Laurel Burch Silver/Enamel Pierced Earrings

Laurel Burch  Inc. was formed by a self taught artist who found her passion selling jewelry she personally designed and manufactured.  Her venue in the beginning was found in the streets of San Francisco where she sold pieces displayed in fishing tackle boxes.  Laurel launched her business in the 1960's . She went to China in 1971 and discovered   cloisonne' with which she designed paintings and had the designs made into earrings. These earrings, now a part of the Port of Mystery collection, are examples of that creative process.

Mexican Silver Dragon’s Breath Opal Bracelet-SOLD

Carrying an artists mark (side view of eagle head), this Sterling Silver Link Bracelet is an excellent example of vintage designer jewelry from Mexico. Silversmith's designed and manufactured jewelry for centuries in Mexico. It wasn't until the 1930's that Mexican Silver Jewelry become popular in the United States, when William Spratling established a retail outlet near Taxco Mexico. Soon after,  Mexican Silver Jewelry began to be imported by retail outlets in U.S..  In short time, Mexican Silver Jewelry could be found in stores throughout the states, from fashionable Gump’s in San Francisco to Montgomery Ward in Chicago and it was "all the rage".  Mexican Silver continues to be a highly collectable item. The "stones" set in this piece are not actually stone but highly prized art glass known among collectors as "Dragons Breath" faux opals.
