THE ART DECO ERA IN JEWELRY
The era commonly referred to as “Art Deco” became known as such after the Exposition International des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes (which was held in Paris in 1925). The Exposition was dedicated for the most part to the jewelry arts. The jewelry of the Art Deco period features modern, almost industrial designs consisting of geometric lines and angles. Art Deco jewelry is highly prized by collectors around the world.
